Listen
Updated: Sep 18

Over the years, I've learned that one of the most important skills in both leadership and sales is also one of the simplest:
Listen.
Whether you're leading a team, mentoring someone, or sitting across the table from a customer, it's easy to start thinking about what you're going to say next.
But some of the best conversations I've had happened when I stopped trying to provide the answer and took the time to understand the person, the problem, and what they were actually trying to accomplish.
In technical sales, customers aren't looking for another sales pitch. They want someone who understands their challenges and can help find the right solution.
Leadership isn't much different.
People want to know they've been heard before they're told what they should do.
Technology changes. Industries change. Titles change.
But the ability to listen, build trust, and follow through never goes out of style.
That's a lesson I've carried with me through the Marine Corps, field operations, leadership, and now technical sales ...... and one I'm still working to get better at every day.
What's one lesson from your career that has stayed with you regardless of the role you've been in?

I anticipate this site is going to contain very valuable information and insight.
I’m looking forward to hearing more.
